Wow it's been a long time since I updated.

Things wot I have been up to:

Meriting! Discovered the Greater Colibri camp and have been happily outdoing my personal best pulls each time I've gone there. #122 today and my 5th HP merit, maxed at 5 HP, 3 MP. /NIN sub really works well there, stops you getting slept (most the time) which keeps the high chains. We only stopped at 122 because I got slept and noone woke me fast enough, but it was fine with me, I needed to go to the bathroom! lol. And we'd already got over 40k exp too.

Also been levelling ranger, it's at 67 and the perma I am in is starting up again this week after a break caused by Inui whose computer broke for a while. RNG is fun, I have some pretty nice gear (mostly borrowed, but oh well) and we've been sticking to conquest zones for CP and less crowded camps which has been working pretty nicely.

Dynamis has been running well, I'm now a pretty competent puller in most cities (record 14 AF2 drop in Jeuno!) and pulled Beaucedine once as well, which is pretty impressive for me considering I get lost in Beaucedine Glacier even with a map -_-; got some RNG and WHM AF2 and also started getting some BST stuff too, haha.

Crafting... not much to say on that front, got to 82, and I've been working on my apron when I've had the money. Been doing PCC BCNMs regularly with Neri and Inui but so far we're 0/485748957385748 (lots) on PCC. I think it's my shoddy luck.

Got my WHM to 75 and NIN to 40, and am working on WAR to 37 (34 so far, JP parties are fun in the evenings! Often I'm the biggest DD too, lol) so I can pick up with Inui's WAR after we finish RNG (and his RDM) and take it to 75 for TP burn fun (yes I get a bit tired of BRD sometimes).

Other stuff I've done: played around on WHM/NIN a lot. I love it, it's hella fun. I have some pretty nice gear for it now, swapped my Tamas for a Rajas ring, got Rev. Mail, Brutal Earring, Prudence rod to go with my Sea Robber Cudgel or Purgatory Mace, a Potent belt, and Nashira body for haste, I have more swap gear for WHM than I do for BRD, including instruments! haha. Last thing I need to do is get a better back piece and upgrade my AF1 hands to AF+1 heh. I've tanked a few exciting things with it, including Aquarius (though I had support with that, no way I could have done it by myself) and I took it to dynamis a couple of times for fun when I wasn't pulling, and I have Asklepios and Templar Mace to make it look like I'm /NINing for a really good reason, and it's actually a pretty good combo, I do over 810 Cure Vs now with +25% cure potency (Noble's, Templar Mace, Asklepios).

JE's been pretty good. We had a bit of drama but it all settled down and the drama-stirrers are gone thankfully. We've also had a huge influx of new apps to the point where we closed our apps for the first time in ages! The new people all seem really competent and nice and it's good to be able to front up to Xarc with 40+ people to take on Dynamis Lord. We've also had a lot of success in sea, with at least 5 Novio earrings coming from our JoLs, which is pretty damned impressive. We've also been doing Limbus lots, and I have shiny new Nashira head and body which are good for debuffing on WHM and also for my haste setup for solo. Hoping to get legs next, I want a good debuff setup for Nyzul Isle since we don't have a RDM.

Nyzul Isle! Doing it with a perma, so far we've been farming feet but lots of us want Goliard so I haven't got mine yet... last time we went we got shitty floors (lots of ordered lamps and psycheflayers and bloody dahaks and stupid shit like that) so we didn't even get to fight the boss at lvl 20. Next time!

Been working a lot on all the rules for dynamis and limbus, the dynamis rules I brought in ages ago have been working well, and people seem to like the website database that I built. Limbus we just re-designed, it's a really good system and much easier to undersatnd than the last one we had which was kinda complicated and hard to work out in 5 mins.

Anyway, back to work for me, no pics cos I R lazy atm sorry! Will post some soon I'm sure. Hah. Like that ever happens though.

bluegartr being down makes me sad. how am I gonna while away the xmas holidays away from my gaming computer without being able to lurk on my favourite e-peen swinging boards!

also, makes me wish I'd backed up a few dynamis threads, heh. ah well, maybe next time I'll become more active, lol.

Today we took on the Dynamis Lord for the second time since we lost our main dynamis organiser/puller, and won! 39 people, 6 rdm/drks overlapping stun order, he got one AoE off at about 4% but it wasn't enough for him to kill us... Yay!

Oh yeah and got owned.

Sad part was that Inui, who pulled almost the entire run, had a power outage which fried his network card right before we pulled the dragons... so that kinda sucked for him :-( but I think the reason we won was because we were just really on the ball. And we haven't won in a while, and especially not since our main puller left us, *and* we got no AF2 the whole run so we really wanted to come out with something good from this run. And a win is good!

Anyway, I'm happy. Next time hopefully we'll get something more than a 100 piece though lol ; ;

So, since my last update I've done a few things, but most haven't got cool pics to go with them so apologies, heh.

I moved house and have been on dialup the last few days which has meant a bit of a cut down in my activities but I still can write about a few things...

I got to 70 WHM which was fun, in a pretty awful party to be honest... we had a 4 level spread which sucked a bit, and went to the mire trying to sort of be a mini burn party which didn't really work so well... we had a bad camp because we couldn't actually roam so well, and imps popping around us annoyingly resulting in me dying once saving Inui from being beaten up... and the puller went afk all the time, it was just annoying. So we eventually mvoed to a slightly better camp after a real burn pt came in and took all our mobs, and contented ourselves with an okay rate of exp, til my housemate came in and started sharing my dialup which meant I went from laggy to super stupidly laggy and managed to kill Inui cos of lag casting a Cure V :/ Anyway after that he threatened to let me die after I dinged so he could hear the level down music... heh ; ;

Unfortunately it actually ended up happening, lol. Fortunately reraise II saved my level but I now only have 589 buffer, and the party broke because we ended up with a 3-way link and wiped. Inui was also left at 300 tnl which was annoying. Sigh, oh well.

In exciting other news, I've started helping to pull dynamis for Journey's End. It certainly makes dynamis more fun! So far I've pulled a Buburimu win, a horrendous Qufim where we couldn't find the subjob ???, and a dismal Valkurm after a failed sac pull of the tree NM in the CoP zones, and I mostly pulled San D'Oria the other day without actually knowing much about it (Inui pulled "the hard bits" though, and basically told me what to do, heh, but we didn't do too badly considering we were just farming!) and I only wiped the alliance once so np ^^; I'm pretty pleased with it, and it's fun, so hopefully I'll be able to do it more often, heh.

Otherwise got clothcraft to 80, and leather to 11, so puk wings to 82, then wamoura silk to 88, then giant bird fletchings after that, and then the long expensive nasty road :( A friend of mine left the game and left me with 5m so I have put a good chunk of that into crafting, and also pimped out my WHM for endgame (blessed gear and steppe rope and templar mace, yeah!).

Hmm, what else... won the first ashu taliff BC thingy so now I can go help Inui get his sash for making his uberleet rng gear... got my rng to 12 (rng is so fun! gonna take that to 75 next yeah!!) ummmmmmm that's about it I think. JE's focus is on sea this month so there's not much for me there but I like to go help ^^ maybe I'll pick up one of those bard capes with the singing skill on it, last ix'drg we killed didn't drop ; ; hate sea drops, heh.

OK that's probably it for now, I'm sure I did some other things but I can't remember right now, and I'm sposed to be working so! ^_^

Well, I dinged 68 on my White Mage, and was given this beautiful piece of gear:





I am a happy Taru!

For those of you who don't know what it is exactly, it's THE best body equipment for White Mage. +10% Cure potency is extremely helpful. Refresh (i.e. 1MP per tick) is also extremely helpful, especially when stacked with Sanction refresh and Red Mage/Bard/Corsair refresh.
Not to mention the fact that it's just cute! :D

Anyway, I need a better back piece really, using a White Cape +1 atm, but nothing really stood out for me. I have a lot of MP, so I'm not too worried about MP, but I am wanting to push out a somewhat better MND build for Cure V. I'm sure I can get a better neck piece too, but my Star Necklace was left over from my Bard and didn't seem too bad >_>; Anyway, any suggestions appreciated!

Long, long, long, long, long time no post!

So! What *have* I been up to?

Since I got back from Scandinavia (where I met one of the officers of my LS, heh, which was fun!) I have:

- levelled my White Mage to 66 with a mini-perma (Inui on BLM, Stryffe on BLU and me) which has been hilariously fun (especially the exp on Ziz in Mamook lately which has led to lots of jokes). I aim to get this to 75 ASAP! Since daylight savings changed I've had more chance to do this too, which is good.

- obtained a Kirin's Osode (wow!) and have a Noble's Tunic waiting for me to hit 68 (wow!) (Thanks JE!)

- Finished the ToAU storyline so far

- Finally started back on Assaults (thanks Inui, yes you spoil me, heh) and am SP now, with 4 points til rank up

- Taken over Dynamis bookkeeping, and am busy writing some tools to help (if anyone else is interested in this when I'm done, it should be fairly portable, but we don't use a point system or anything like that so I won't be programming that sort of thing in)

- Put down my ugly yellow chocobo (mmm dinner)

- Gotten my clothcraft to 78 (and still no decent areas for profit, sigh)

- Camped a bunch of "dinosaurs" but no exciting drops to show for it :(

- Volunteered to pull CoP dynamis (eek! any tips gratefully appreciated) since our main puller/bookkeeper/etc. decided to go emo and leave us (so long 1 3/4 relics (completed Excalibur, almost completed Aegis), full RDM AF2, dalmy, etc. etc.) and delete all his strategy posts from our forums before he left

- seen the downfall of a few once-grand and proud HNMLSes, not including mine, thank goodness

- beaten Proto-Ultima twice out of two runs with my small social Limbus group (not bad for a rag-tag team of late nighters!)

- seen a few good friends leave the game :~(

- tried out PSU but can't play online due to stupid STUPID region locking that means they won't accept my Australian credit card to buy an online license until the 24th

- Made some awesome friends :D which is what it's all about!

I'm sure there's lots I'm missing, but those are the things that have stuck out firmly for me over the last couple of months.

(Yes, I did manage to finish all the new missions last night in an awesomely fun time with some friends and two randoms, including a JP, who was cool! especially when we all died like once or twice on the way to the BC, stupid undead and imps and just general nastiness combination!)

Well, I didn't really expect much of this week since I'm going away for almost a month in a week and a bit's time, but in 3 extremely successful days I've picked up some really nice things.... I didn't mean to be lootwhorish but... yeah this has probably been my most loot-eventful week in a very long time.


Firstly, my Bard's Roundlet from Dynamis-San D'Oria, which I got with no competition (it's quite a common piece to drop) taking me to 4/5 of my AF2... then in Dynamis-Beaucedine a Bard's Justaucorps dropped; with three others lotting I managed to get the high lot on it as well -- taking me to 5/5!

Then at limbus I borrowed 4 coins from Gplay and got my Musical Earring! It is super sexy, and brings me to 247 wind, 242 singing, and 239 string with only 1 merit in both wind and singing. So I'm pretty happy with that! Here's a pic of me in my full +skill gear (notice how poor I am :/ )



Oh and yesterday we claimed Fafnir with our JP friends after the maintenance. It was a fun fight, and I finally got my Fafnir Slayer title!



Anyway, in the midst of this I've been working on some university work... so I should get back to it now ^^/

Since beating DM I've done a lot of exciting things, as usual! I took a bit of a break so it's not been particularly jam packed with excitement but a few cool things have happened XD

Last week my social linkshell Covenant rustled up all its members with sky to attempt the Divine Might Ark Angel fight. Many of us have been wanting the earrings from this fight, so it's been an event we've been planning for a long time. We were quite light on BLMs (and recruited a couple of friends of members who were BLMs for this fight) and only had one WHM, but our eventual alliance was:

Other stuff I did last week: got my bonecraft to 16 so I could start making my own carapace powder (now at 18 due to this), and with the powder I got my clothcraft to 58! I'm also half way to my specs with 35k GP, and harvested 4 stacks of tarutaru rice -- proving that I don't have quite the black thumb I suspected I might. I also had a super super super super party on WHM which is now 2k to 55 (thanks very very very much to Fidant, Sassy, and Foxtrot for making that party -- I almost choked myself to death with laughter several times!) so I need to go find myself my cute little hat! Hopefully I can crash that perma for a little while to get my WHM up there... I want to get it to 75 asap! and pickup parties suck the proverbial balls :(

Anyway, I'm AFK this week because of a job that came up in Sydney, so I'm up here staying with my lovely boyfriend wzdd ^_^ Have a good week!

Well! It's been over a month since I last updated, heh. I'll go through all the exciting things that happened to me!

This week I haven't really been doing so much accomplishment-wise, I've had a few things to do for my studies. But! I did manage to go on my first ever outlands dynamis, Dynamis-Beaucedine, which we won (and got 7 AF from! wow! no bard though ; ; ) yay!

Here's us bashing on the mega boss. He likes to warp around a lot (so we kept summoners with carby on him so they'd show us where he'd warped to) and toward the end seemingly chainspell-cast Death. That was fun. Fortunately there were enough of us to finish him off and we got the win! It's wins like this that make me really glad I joined JE, they're just really coordinated and smooth and make it fun to participate.



Had a pretty successful couple of limbus runs; got 45 coins from our last Apollyon run which ended up as being 5/6 each at the end :) did the slime/crab/skelly/weapon one, which we like because we have two monks (one with vampiric claws and the other with a really good chi setup for the slimes) ^^ Did the beasts Temenos too, but got shit luck with the chest drops, only 1 time so we only got to the lizards before we ran out of time :/

I also got my clothcraft to level 47, which I'm pretty pleased about. I've mostly been making a very slight profit in levelling it, I think... but I have a backlog of things to sell and the economy has stalled a lot recently. I suspect this is due to the expectation of the expansion; people are sitting on things a bit to see what will be profitable when it comes out...

Have also been fishing a lot with Cristo for his Lu Shang rod. We're up to 6k fish now, which is ... a lot, considering I don't think he's bought any... I'd say I've probably fished up close to 1k myself for him, I think I'll just buy it when I get around to it ... but my fishing is only 31 so I'm not really hanging out for it yet. I'm hoping my CC will be able to help fund that sort of venture. Maybe, heh. Nice thing about this expansion is that most of the new jobs seem to be mage-like and wear cloth armours so it'll be nice to get some more CC synths... maybe something else to help me through the silk road, who knows!

This week was quite eventful!

Started out with Dynamis-San D'Oria, which we won with quite a bit of time remaining, despite messing up by not moving to the choco stables for the final NM pull before the boss, and having the boss pop right on top of us ... whoops XD No bard AF dropped unfortunately, I guess I'll be eating pamamas for a while yet! I did, however, buy some new pants (Sha'ir Seraweels) and a new ring (Angel's ring to finally get rid of my Loyalty) so I'm pretty happy with my equip at the moment despite lack of muffin hat. One of the nice things about bard is that most of the good stuff is rare/ex ^^ Sha'ir stuff is really just for looks I think, though the pants are a good Errant replacement (but will be replaced with Cannions +1 when I get them!).

I got my clothcraft to 25, which is pretty good, I think, for a week! I managed to make a profit on most of my synths too, though I did Heko Obis from 22-24.9 or so, and then Cristo and I went hunting manticore hairs (which are otherwise 15k each) which got me up to 25.somethingkindahigh! So I have about 3 more levels of kaginawa to go, then, uh, I have some other grand plan which I've currently forgotten.

Craziness at Aspid this week, my first land king sighting; he popped first window and the JPs got him (he popped right on top of me, but dia was just too slow), but they didn't have enough so we were going to wait for them to wipe before claiming it. Somehow one of our blms' stuns went off and we managed to steal it ... so we were told to hike it out of there asap to let the JPs get it back... so we did, but then another LS grabbed it... so yeah, that didn't go so well.

This is my first entry in this journal - I'm going to use it as a journal for my Final Fantasy XI character Linliel. I'm going to try to update once a week or so depending on what's happening in game for me! ^^

Might as well start it out with some excitement! This week I finally collected the second item I needed for my first AF+1 upgrade, my choral justaucorps! So I went off to visit Sagheera with my 40 coins, brown doeskin, and coiled yarn (my friends Mordenkain and Eseuldor lent me 9 coins between them) and now she's taken it away from me until the conquest tally T_T

The stats on this are awesome, it's like a freebie Kirin's Osode! 10 VIT and CHR, 20 HP, string skill +6 ^^ I'm gonna be a very happy Taru when it comes back! I think doing limbus with fewer people than a full alliance (we do it with 10 or so) means for more coins to be distributed between us :D

In other exciting news I joined one of the "big" NA HNMLSes this week, Journey's End. So far I've had lots of fun, watching them totally plough through Dynamis-Windurst was a huge change from the LS I was previously in which barely made it to the Auction House. Downing Jailer of Fortitude was cool too, and wiping to Jailer of Justice not so good... but a learning experience! Am making some awesome new friends which is great too.

Anyway, pics will come of my new awesome body-piece!
